LORAC always delivers when they come out with palettes and holiday blockbusters! This year is no different. I saw this on www.sephora.com and my jaw hit the keyboard. It has 4 eyeshadow palettes, a cream eyeliner palette and a liptint palette. Each palette is like a can't bar! The blockbuster is priced at $59.00 and my job is to say whether or not this is worth it or not.
The first shadow palette is called “Ooh La La Vanilla”. It has four shadows all in the warm toned family. There is a light cream shimmer, a just slightly darker creamy vanilla shimmer, matte chocolate and then a matte warm extra dark chocolate brown.
The next palette is the Tantalizing Cocoa palette. It has a light cream shimmer, a medium warm bronze, a dark chocolate shimmer and a very dark chocolate shimmer. Then we have the Caramel Love Affair Palette. This has a warm pinkish champagne shimmer, a medium copper shimmer, a medium bronze shimmer and a very dark coppery bronze shimmer.
The last eyeshadow palette is the Blackberry Truffle palette. It has a white shimmer, dark eggplant shimmer, dark forest green shimmer and a dark black-blue shimmer. These shadows didn’t swatch as well.
What is nice is this set comes with four cream eyeliners and four liptints. The four cream liners are called the Dark Chocolate set. The colors are navy, burgundy, brown and black. The liptint set is called Indulge in Berry Kisses, and has a coral, pink, brown and red.
I decided to use the Caramel Love Affair palette for this look. I used the medium bronze shimmer in the crease, the dark copper shimmer on the lid and the very dark copper shimmer on the outer edge of the crease and under the eye to line. The warm pinkish champagne was used under the brow and just in the center of the lid. I used LancĂ´me's Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara in Black on the lashes and MAC’s Superslick Liquid Liner in Defiantly Feline (bronze). LORAC’s blush in Sugar Plum was used on my cheeks. I used the liptint in pink.
I like this set and I adore LORAC’s eyeshadows! They are so rich in pigment. Her line is way underrated I always say. There was no fallout with these shadows too, which is very good. I think this is a great value for the money. The liptint went on smoothly and has a satiny matte finish. The swatches for all of the items except for the Blackberry Truffle set go on very well. I am surprised that these shadows are a little hard but over all this set is a good buy and worth the $59.00. This set is not something you want to get as a gift, but more for yourself!

Pretty cool that you majored in anthropology. That's my major. I am also a makeup artist. I never thought I would meet another anthropologist/MUA. :)
ReplyDeleteI read on sephora.com (thr reviews section) that the shadows are powdery and require a lot of product before it shows up on the skin. Did you experience this at all?
Chris, awesome! I got out of anthro because I hated grad school and there weren't any jobs. This was years ago though.
ReplyDeleteThe LORAC shadows in this kit are generally pretty good except for the Blackberry Truffle set. Those weren't very good. Otherwise I liked them. I like the brand a lot. Good luck to you!
Thanks for doing a makeup look.
