Reviews: LORAC Color Correcting Cream and SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20

LORAC CC Cream and SEPHORA CC Cream

I thought I would review the following two CC creams together because I purchased them at the same time, have been using them for a while and they exemplify the trend in foundation type creams that are on the market at this time. We are past the “BB Cream” stage and on to “CC Cream””. What is a CC Cream exactly?

A CC Cream is more of a color correcting cream. Instead of being very sheer like a BB cream, a CC cream has more tint to it and will actually neutralize redness and sallowness in the skin in addition to the main function that the BB cream does.

LORAC Color Correcting Cream:

LORAC CC Cream This cream has much a lot of pigment to it. That is one of the main reasons that I purchased it. It also neutralizes redness and sallowness, covers blemishes, brightens, hydrates and soothes the skin. Red seaweed primes, while hyaluronic acid helps to add moisture to the skin and Vitamin C brightens. Aloe Vera, chamomile, calendula, soothe the skin, while anti-oxidants such as vitamins A and E and green and white tea can keep the skin looking healthy and more youthful. LORAC Color Correcting Cream is formulated without parabens, oil, silicones, fragrances, sulfates and phthalates. It is suitable for all skin types. This cream comes in three shades: a light, medium and tan.

I have worn this cream numerous times now. I was trying to see if it was too light, just right or how LORAC Color Correcting Cream_swatchwell it really wore on me. I decided that the color is not too light, even though the light color is VERY light, which is surprising. It is hard to find one of these creams where the light color is extremely light enough. For summer it will not be right enough though, I think it is just too light for summer. It wears beautifully. This is a great cream. It is very pigmented and covers a lot of my freckles. The cream is really almost a foundation.

LORAC Color Correcting Cream is $28.00 for 1.23 oz./36.5ml and is available via www.loraccosmetics.com, www.sephora.com, www.ulta.com, www.beauty.com, SEPHORA stores and Ulta stores.

SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream

SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20

SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream also color corrects and perfects the complexion and it promises a lightweight finish. The cream has a Hydra24 Complex that hydrates the skin and mimimizes the appearance of pores while licorice extract evens the skintone and sea kale acts as an anti-aging agent to smooth the skin and the appearance of fine lines. This can be worn alone or under foundation as a primer. It is for all skin types. And it is also formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates, it’s oil-free, fragrance free and can be used on senistive skin.

I also tried the SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20 many times. This one is a little different for a few reasons. First, it has a sunscreen in it. You will like this!!!!! The sunscreen is mineral! Yes, everyone can use it because the sunscreen ingredients are tintanium dioxide(5.1% )and zinc oxide (2.8%). I know a lot of people that will be happy about this. Second, the coloring in this is slightly different. It is pigmented but not as much. The lightest color is definitely darker than SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream_swatchthe LORAC one. It comes in 7 shades. I feel that the lightest shade is just a little too dark for me. But at least this one will be great for darker skin tones. However, it is not as pigmented as I would like it to be. I would not purchase this to use as a primer. Also, this wears okay. I do find that by the end of the day my makeup has kind of “melted”.

SEPHORA Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20 is $26.00 for 1 oz./30ml and is available via www.sephora.com or at SEPHORA stores.

I think I would prefer the LORAC one over the SEPHORA one. It is just more pigmented and I find that it wears better.
