Review: L’Occitane La Collection de Grasse Neroli & Orchidee #L’Occitane

L’Occitane introduces one of the most intoxicating fragrances I have ever had the pleasure of using. Imagine flowers of the utmost femininity. A tantalizing and lovely fragrance, the Neroli and White Orchid together are associated with endearment and affection. La Collection de Grasse, inspired by and named after the world perfume capital in the south of France, includes incredible combinations of fragrances that combine precious ingredients from lands near and far. Neroli, also called the Orange Blossom, is a tender fruity floral is loved throughout the south of France. It’s scent blends beautifully with the White Orchid, which comes from Madagascar. Neroli comes from Tunisia. The bottle of the Eau de Toilette has a golden thread tied around it to symbolize the two flowers coming together as one.

This lovely new fragrance comes in the following products:

Eau de Toilette - $75 2.5 fl. oz. Bursts of orange and heart notes of peach complete the sensuous bouquet of Tunisian Neroli and White Orchid from Madagascar. The scent lingers on the skin throughout the day. What I love about this Eau de Toilette is how strong it is. The fragrance lasts all day long, especially when used with the fragrance layering technique explained below. It is a great fragrance and when I use it I just find that I cannot stop myself from smelling it!

Shower Gel - $18 5.9 f. oz. This delicate shower gel foams generously when applied with water to gently cleanse the skin. It leaves a gentle reminder of the Neroli & Orchidee aroma on the skin. The shower gel is nice because it does not leave the skin feeling dry at all. My skin tends to be dry and I find that after the shower my skin feels very soft. And the shower gel leaves a “fragrant reminder” of the scent behind on the skin.

Perfumed Soap - $8 4.4 oz. Foaming generously when applied with water, this soap produces a creamy texture for a gentle and luxurious cleanse. It leaves a lovely reminder of the Neroli & Orchidee scent on the skin.

Body Milk - $20 5.9 fl. oz. Can be used daily, this body lotion leaves a delicate fragrance of Neroli & Orchidee on the skin. This body lotion is great for dry skin, as it soaks right into the skin and leaves it feeling soft and supple. The Neroli & Orchidee scent is also left onto the skin, as it lingers during the day.

Scented Candle - $30 6.7 oz. This candle will burn for around 30 hours and holds the luxurious scent of Neroli & Orchidee. Fill up your house with the intoxicating aroma of

the Mediterranean flowers.

Limited Edition Fragrance Booster Cream - $36 4.4 oz. This formula contains universal floral notes that embrace each of the fragrances of La Collection de Grasse. Use with any of the scents in the the collection to help ensure a stronger fragrance. The cream helps to capture the scent of the Eau de Toilette so that it will last longer. The booster cream is a nice body cream in itself. Having it help boost the scent onto the body is a perfect way to help capture the Neroli & Orchidee scent. I think the layering technique is an interesting way to help have a scent last throughout the day.

Here is the recommended layering technique as advised by L’Occitane.
To ensure your scent stays put day to night, use the following “fragrance layering” technique:
Step 1: Wash with the Shower Gel or Perfumed Soap
Step 2: Nourish skin with the hydrating Body Milk
Step 3: Apply the Fragrance Booster Cream
Step 4: Spritz on the Eau de Toilette

As I mentioned in the beginning, this is one of the most exhilarating fragrances I have ever encountered. The fragrance is not heavy but instead can be described as more of a heady floral. It is the kind that I just cannot stop myself from wanting to smell all day long. This fragrance reminds me of a summer afternoon, picking flowers in my grandmother’s garden. When a fragrance stimulates a memory, you know it is a good one!
