Review: The Skin Regime Book and Peel

The Skin Regime

The Skin Regime is a book written by a patient of a dermatologist who was not happy with the way the skincare market was “destroying” people’s skin with harsh peels that were available over the counter to those who do not know how to use them properly. Personally, as an esthetician, I agree that there are many products on the market that are not for use by those who have no business putting it on their skin causing burns, major discolorations, etc. This book is to teach those how to have a proper regimen on their skin.

I don’t necessarily agree with everything written in the book though. I am someone with over 20 years experience in the industry and I am a consummate professional who does know a thing or two about skincare and makeup. I do think that the beauty industry does try and trick individuals into buying the latest and greatest products, disregarding what is best. However, I do also believe that some expensive products work very well too.

The peel that comes with the book is okay, for a beginner it is perfect. For someone like me, who can use a Jessner’s solution without any issues, it is not strong enough. If you think that you can use drugstore products continuously and forget about spending a little bit more money, then stick with this book.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
