Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Beverly Hills made a name for herself with her brow products. Lately however she has branched out into many different products, such as eye shadows, contouring and lip products. I purchased the Maya Mia Palette because it looked so darn cute. I thought the colors in it were adorable.
The Maya Mia Palette has 10 coordinating eye shadows and retails for $29.00. The palette was designed by makeup artist Maya Janeska (@maya_mia_y). I was so looking forward to trying this out. So, did it live up to the hype? Let’s take a look…
What is nice is that Maya Mia Palette shades are predominately warm. I find that that fits me well, as I have a neutral complexion and can wear warm or cool shades easily. The palette comes with 5 Get The Look cards that shows you how to get various eye looks designed for maximum wow with the shadows. The shades are as follows: Nude (light nude brown), Deep Brown (darkest brown), Sienna (reddish clay), Warm Taupe (taupe brown), Vanilla (lightly shimmery warm white), Aqua (lightly shimmery warm sea blue), Fresh Peach (slightly shimmery warm peach), Glisten (shimmery golden bronze), Caramel (caramel brown) and Gold Bar (lightly shimmery greenish gold).
How is the pigmentation? Not as good as I had hoped for. You can see that here they all look fairly good but when applied to the eyelid there were some problems. I had hoped for great pigmentation with the Aqua shade especially, but I found that it did not go on as well as I wanted. When applied to my lid it took several swipes just to get any color at all and it faded quickly. The dark shades did have great pigmentation, especially Deep Brown, Sienna and Caramel. I found that Fresh Peach was also lacking in pigment too.
Look With Maya Mia Palette:
I do like the palette. My only complaint is that the Aqua does not have as much pigment as the other eye shadows. I wish is was a bit more pigmented. If it was, this would be one of the most perfect palettes I have ever used. What I could do instead is use to try and use the eye shadows wet and see if it is better. Most pigmentation picks up when the eye shadow is used wet. Some eye shadows cannot be used wet though. What you do is test it out in a corner of the pan. This way you don’t ruin the entire pan. I do like the color scheme of the palette though, as I feel I can wear this successfully. This is a great palette for the cost.

I've wanted to treat myself to a new make-up palette for ages. Thanks for this review as I think this is the one I might actually buy.
