EcoTools, a leader in eco-conscious beauty, introduces a new makeup and hair look for Spring as part of its "Looks You Love" series. The looks, developed by the EcoTools Beauty Team using new EcoTools products, help you get ready for Spring and transition into the warmer weather. Check out the full looks on EcoTools.com.
EcoTools Beauty Team members Teni Panosian and Christine Symonds used the theme of "renewal" as inspiration, focusing on a beautiful, healthy-looking complexion and classic hair with a twist. Makeup expert Panosian is a professional beauty blogger, YouTube beauty sensation and the voice behind MissMaven.com. Celebrity hairstylist Symonds regularly styles red carpet beauties such as Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Kristen Bell, Anna Faris, Ali Larter and more.
Beautifully Fresh MakeupLet skin be the star with this makeup look by using the new EcoTools Complexion Collection®, uniquely designed with specific cuts to aid in common skincare concerns. The four brushes in the line are incredibly soft, perform beautifully and add a pop of color to any makeup bag with artfully designed ferrules. Individual brushes range in price from $4.99 to $8.99 or can be purchased as a bundle for $24.99.
"This collection helps your makeup and other face products work harder to combat fine lines, dark circles and oily skin, says Panosian. "It's perfect for creating a smooth base and flawless finish that will look radiant in the Spring sunshine."
Start by applying a light foundation or BB cream with the Skin Perfecting Brush, working the bristles in small circles for an airbrushed look. Treat under eye circles with a concealer using the Eye Perfecting Brush, beginning at the inner corner and extending outwards. The shape of the brush mimics the curve of your finger for a smooth and precise application. For any trouble areas like breakouts or dark spots, take the Correcting Concealer Brush and dab the concealer over the area and then, using a small stippling motion, blend it out to completely hide any imperfections. Set and minimize shine using the Mattifying Finish Brush with a translucent powder under eyes and the T-zone.
Now that your complexion is set, add a little warmth with bronzer along the hollows of cheeks, hairline and jawline. A pop of pink blush on the apples of the cheeks will liven up the look as will highlighting powder on the high point of the cheekbones.
Use a neutral eyeshadow to keep attention on the skin. Swipe a peach shadow across lids up to your crease. Then, work a purple shade into the outer half of your crease and blend down to the outer corners of your lids. Add definition by applying a dark brown shadow just at the outer corner of lids. Finish off the look with a coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes and a sheer pink gloss on the lips.
Beautifully Fresh Hair"Braids are a beauty routine staple," says Symonds. "This Spring, they are getting a new twist with lots of texture. I created a half up, half down style which perfectly complements your new makeup look and pulls hair away from the face." The look was created using the line of EcoTools Hair Brushes, which feature six styles to suit every hair type and need. EcoTools hair brushes retail for $10.99.
Start by partially blow drying wet hair with the new Ultimate Air Dryer to remove moisture. This brush features a unique patent pending design which dries hair 40 percent faster, tested versus a leading brush, for less heat damage and quicker prep time. The anti-tangle bristles are also great for detangling right out of the shower. Finish off blow drying with the Full Volume Styler, focusing mainly on the ends to create texture and movement. The large round shape of the brush amps up hair's natural volume while the synthetic boar bristles create shine.
Once hair is completely dry, gather the top section and clip it out of the way, leaving enough hair on each side of the head above the ears to create two small braids. Then braid each side section into small braids and secure with an elastic. Drop down the top section and gather all the hair into a low pony tail, making sure to leave out the two side braids. Bring the two braids together in the back of the head and secure tightly with another small elastic.
Now that the braids are set, remove the low ponytail to create the half up/ half down effect. Finish off by pulling up at the roots near the crown of the head to create texture and pull out a few pieces around the face for an undone look.
