This spring Marc Jacobs came out with some beautiful new mascaras. So beautiful in fact that I was overcome with giddiness when i tried them out. My favorite was the gold lame mascara! How goregous can you get?!?!?! Here is my review of the three new mascaras and how well they functioned.
Here is my eye without any mascara, so you can see how well the mascara performed (as you can see, my lashes are invisible, I desperately need mascara):
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara $26.00
This Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara is one of the better mascaras I have ever used. It is an ultra-volumizing and delivers instant dimension for epic lashes! As you can see this mascara adds loads of volume to the lashes. I used it only on the top lashes, because the next mascara is for the bottom ones. It really does makes a huge difference on my lashes. This one adds volume and length, which I really need. I love this and will be wearing it all the time now.

This mascara is really oriented toward the lower lashes. Which has not been given much love really. It can be used on the upper lashes but it works better on the lower lashes. I love how well it separates and defines the lower lashes. It has an ultra-skinny brush that just finds all the lashes and gives them definition. Inspired by the unmistakable soft texture and plush feel of feathers, this lengthening and defining mascara is designed to transform straight and lower lashes into long, luxurious layers with gorgeous impact. As you can see it gave each of the lower lashes definition. My lower lashes are the worst! They are usually invisible. This mascara brought out all of them. With both mascaras on my eye, I actually have lashes! I love how beautiful they look.

Below you will see how the mascara looks on my lashes over the Velvet Noir and Feather Noir mascaras. It is hard to see the glitter because it shows up only during reflection of light.
Here you can see the golden glitters of the lame on the lashes, but just barely. I love how this mascara adds to the other mascaras you are wearing. It adds volume to the lashes.

I tried four shades of the Le Marc Lip Crème. The shades I tried were J’Adore (terra cotta blush), Rei of Light (toasted brick), Magenta (grape sangria), and Scandal (intense plum). I will say this, these are very intense shades. They do cover the lips with one swipe. In all my years of wearing lipstick (since I was 12 and I am now 43), I have not seen a lipstick with this much pigment and payoff. I love how well it goes on and how well it lasts. Not only does it stay on for at least 10 hours, it also wears well through eating. More than any other lipstick I have seen. I also like that it does not come off easily onto other things, the color is just about transfer-proof. It is non-drying to the lips, keeping them feeling hydrated and soft.
These are some great lippies and I recommend these if you are looking for something that is very pigmented and wears a very long time. These are not sheer in the least, have excellent coverage and last forever. They have a satin finish, which means it is not matte and not a shimmer. Kind of in between. I am very happy to have been given the chance to discover these. I would love to try out more, so I think I will purchase one or two on my next SEPHORA splurge!

I tried four shades of the Le Marc Lip Crème. The shades I tried were J’Adore (terra cotta blush), Rei of Light (toasted brick), Magenta (grape sangria), and Scandal (intense plum). I will say this, these are very intense shades. They do cover the lips with one swipe. In all my years of wearing lipstick (since I was 12 and I am now 43), I have not seen a lipstick with this much pigment and payoff. I love how well it goes on and how well it lasts. Not only does it stay on for at least 10 hours, it also wears well through eating. More than any other lipstick I have seen. I also like that it does not come off easily onto other things, the color is just about transfer-proof. It is non-drying to the lips, keeping them feeling hydrated and soft.
These are some great lippies and I recommend these if you are looking for something that is very pigmented and wears a very long time. These are not sheer in the least, have excellent coverage and last forever. They have a satin finish, which means it is not matte and not a shimmer. Kind of in between. I am very happy to have been given the chance to discover these. I would love to try out more, so I think I will purchase one or two on my next SEPHORA splurge!
