Today I am going to do another foundation review. This time it is of COVERGIRL's new foundation. As I mentioned, I am somewhat of a foundation fanatic. That is because it has been in the past, very difficult to find my shade of foundation. But cosmetic companies are starting to listen to their customers and they are putting out more shades of foundation in a full range of skin tones.
COVERGIRL TruBlend Matte Made Foundation is a medium buildable coverage matte foundation. It is non-drying and does not get cakey at all on the skin or in fine lines or wrinkles. This foundation has been developed with flexi-hold technology that creates a strong, yet flexible film on the skin for durability and comfort. Mattifying powders absorb oil and minimize pores for a soft matte, flawless finish. It provides up to 12 hours of wear. This foundation is also transfer-resistant, so it is less likely to come off of the skin when it comes into contact with something, if you perspire, swim or touch anything. The best part about this foundation is that it comes in 40 shades!
I tried L10 Fair Porcelain, the lightest shade. I always wear the lightest shade in any foundation. Or the shade that has the most neutral and is the lightest. I think it is wonderful that they made this foundation in 40 shades. That means that women of all colors and ethnic backgrounds should be able to find a color match. I used to work for Prescriptives and back then they were the only company known for having the vast amount of foundation shades in the cosmetic world.
Here is the shade chart, taken from the website:
Here is a swatch of the foundation in L10 Fair Porcelain on my inner wrist:

Notice that in all of these photos my imperfections, freckles, sun damage (which are essentially freckles), any redness associated with leftover acne are all
covered. This foundation does a great job of covering up imperfections and blemishes with its medium buildable coverage. And notice how matte my skin is? The only shine you see on my face is from my highlighter. I think it is a great foundation that people who will want a matte look will enjoy. It lasts all day long and does not come off easily. Also, oil does not breakthrough so you will not find yourself with shine halfway through the day.
COVERGIRL TruBlend Matte Made Foundation retails for $8.99 and will be found soon online at www.ulta.com, www.amazon.com and mass market retailers such as Walgreens, Rite-Aid, CVS, Walmart, Target and Ulta Beauty.
