Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate

Well, here we are. It is unofficially winter time for most of the country. That means less humidity in the air, we have moved indoors and have turned the heat on. And our skin turns drier. Which means it also has a tendency to dehydrate. Skin that is dehydrated tends to look shiny but is still dry and flaky. No matter what you do your skin feels tight. What you need is moisture and you need it fast. I have the perfect product for you. Enter Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texurtizing Serum Concentrate. 

This serum contains 15% glycerin, a powerful humectant that acts to hold moisture in the skin and helps to rehydrate is from the inside out. It is an  efficacious serum that will plump and smooth the skin easily.  And it helps to reduce the look of fine lines & wrinkles for skin that looks smooth, healthy and more luminous. Shiso leaf extract also aids to retain moisture through the skin's surface layers. With continued use, this serum has been shown to clinically minimize* the look of fine lines, rough skin texture, dullness and a tired looking complexion that is caused by age related dehydration. (*results based upon user grading in a clinical study) 

To use: dispense one pump into hand. Apply evenly onto face before moisturizer morning and evening (prior to SPF during the morning). This can also be used on the eye contour area. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with water. 

Most people think that you need hyaluronic acid to return skin to plump perfection, but let me tell you that this is wrong. I have spoken with cosmetic chemist Kelly Dobos and she informed me that glycerin is actually a better humectant for the skin than hyaluronic acid. Its molecule is smaller and therefore can penetrate into the skin deeper and better than hyaluronic acid. I was misinformed about this for many years and often thought that hyaluronic acid was the better ingredient. You may notice that most creams contain glycerin as a humectant, and it is listed at the top of the ingredients list. This is not to say that hyaluronic acid is complete garbage, but it doesn't compare to glycerin. Especially when the serum contains 15% of the ingredient. 

The serum is expensive, yes. But only one pump is needed per use. This makes it very economical for the price. Considering when how well it performs. I would estimate that the entire bottle would last for the whole winter and into the spring. And when you are taking into account the fate of your skin, that is extremely important. I also think it is necessary to make sure and exfoliate lightly (notice I said lightly) prior to using this serum. That way you will benefit the most from this serum. You can however, user other products, just make sure it is something gentle because likely you are already dehydrated and you do not want to further dry out the skin. You just want to get rid of extraneous dead skin cells on the upper epidermis.
